We know the impact that one-to-one conversations can have, so we keep an open dialogue with all our stakeholders and we take issues up to the highest levels of the government.
Mainstreaming disability
OneFamilyPeople participated in the UNCRPD States Parties Conference, which brought together hundreds of disability activities and delegates from the government to discuss mainstreaming the rights of the persons with disabilities in the post-2015 development agenda. Improving data on disability and addressing the vulnerability and exclusion of persons with disabilities were on the high the agenda.
We helped convince state parties to mainstream disability in all development programmes including the Sustainable Development Goals, and to translate the conference outcomes into national policies with concrete strategies. We continue to explore data and accountability as mechanisms for driving progress for persons with disabilities at the country level.
