Ensuring well-being

Access to health care services is a fundamental human right, yet it remains a challenge for persons with disabilities, not only as a result of infrastructural and financial barriers but also societal attitudes and communication. Key challenges confronting girls and young women with disabilities in particular include access to education about sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as various form of sexual and gender-based violence. OneFamilyPeople targets these problems by strengthening the capacity of their partner organisations to support them in providing these services.

Projects

Promoting women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (PWSRHR)
- Funded by the Liliane Foundation

This project ensures that adolescents and youngsters with disabilities have access to sexual and reproductive health information and services. This is done by providing five local partner organisations with the necessary expertise and resources to ensure access to these services in their areas.
